Qatar Embassy in Myanmar celebrates the National Day 2025

The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar hosted a reception by Mr. Ahmad bin Ali Al-Marri, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. on the occasion of the National Day at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon.

The event was held in the presence of His Excellency U Nyo Saw, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, as Guest of Honour, along with the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, the Mayor, the Region’s Minister for Security and Border Affairs, as well as a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar.

The reception was also attended by heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of the United Nations, and a distinguished gathering of business leaders, media professionals, and economists.

In his remarks, Mr. Al-Marri, stated that this year’s National Day motto, “With you it rises, and from you it aspires,” is a renewed call to continue the path of progress, dedication, and loyalty. It reflects a clear message that investing in people remains Qatar’s greatest commitment to strengthening its renaissance.

He further highlighted the State of Qatar’s accomplishments for the year 2025, noting that the country has achieved qualitative progress across various fields both domestically and internationally. These include its pivotal role in mediation efforts aimed at reinforcing international peace and security, its hosting of numerous global conferences, events, and major sports championships, and its consistent ranking among the world’s top ten countries in key international indicators, such as peace and quality of life.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. also emphasized Qatar’s continued enhancement of its tourism and entertainment sectors, as well as its advancement of artificial intelligence systems and digital transformation capabilities.

Mr. Al-Marri further spoke about Qatar–Myanmar bilateral relations, noting that they span more than two decades since the establishment of diplomatic ties in December 2005, and are built on mutual trust and respect. He expressed his best wishes for progress and prosperity to Myanmar and its friendly people, and for continued growth for the bilateral relations.
