Qatar Affirms that Siege Countries' New Terrorism List Aims to Discredit its Reputation

The State of Qatar has affirmed that the decision of the siege countries to add 18 individuals and entities that they believe to have links to terrorism, including Qatari citizens, and linking these entities to the State of Qatar, aims to discredit the State of Qatar, stressing that Qatar is sparing no effort to fight terrorism and extremism.

HE the Government Communications Office Director Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani said in a statement today that the new list comes as a disappointing surprise that the siege countries continue to pursue this policy as part of their campaign to discredit the State of Qatar, adding that the new list provides further evidence that the siege countries are not committed to the fight against terrorism.

HE the Government Communications Office Director added that all the individuals who have links to terrorism in Qatar have been prosecuted, pointing that the State has consistently revised its anti-terrorism legislations to remain at the forefront of the battle against extremism and terrorism financing.
