The event was held in the presence of His Excellency U Nyo Saw, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, as Guest of Honour, along with the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, the Mayor, the Region’s Minister for Security and Border Affairs, as well as a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon, with the attendance of the Union Minister of Energy, His Excellency Mr. Ko Ko Lwin, as the guest of honor, along with the Chief Minister of Yangon, senior officials from the Myanmar MoFA, in addition to heads of diplomatic missions and United Nations representatives accredited to Myanmar, a number of media professionals, businessmen, economists, heads of sports clubs, and intellectuals and cultural figures.

At the outset, I am pleased to welcome you to Qatar, wishing you a pleasant stay. I would also like to extend my deep thanks to both the sisterly State of Kuwait and the friendly Kingdom of Thailand for their gracious hosting of the previous two summits of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue. I also thank the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran for the valuable efforts it has made during its presidency of the dialogue this year and its keenness to promote it.
